Fourth Installment of the “Discover the ERCK Trail” Paddling Series February 9th

Edisto River Adventures continues a series of guided paddles designed to explore 60 miles of the Edisto River known as the Edisto River Canoe and Kayak Trail. Colleton and Givhans State Parks are partnering with the outfitter on the outings scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of each month through April 2019.

Paddle #4 of 6 will start where we left off last month – Mars Oldfield Landing. Meet up at 9:00 am at MOF and drop equipment at landing. We will caravan to Edisto River Adventures (end of paddle) and drop vehicles and take the shuttle back to MOF. The paddle trip will then begin its 8.5 mile journey taking in beautiful winter scenery and wildlife – this section will feature limestone formations and a side foray into Four Holes Swamp.

An after paddle gathering with food is planned, provided Mother Nature allows an agreeable river level for our outpost. Please “stay tuned”.

Primitive camping is reserved and can be used the night before and the night of ($5 pp) for those traveling from afar and those just wanting to make a weekend of it. Contact Givhans Ferry State Park for sites with power and water – or for those with RV’s (843-873-0692)

Kayak / Paddleboard equipment rentals are available through Edisto River Adventures for $45, shuttle service is available for those with their own equipment. Shuttle service is a $10 donation that covers the entire series.

We just heard of the “ Discover The Erick Trail” paddling series and would like to join you on the balance of your trips the second Sat. of each month starting with Sat. 12/8/18. My wife and I have been kayaking for years and have our own kayaks and gear. Please advise us on how to arrange to join you.
    Thanks Tony and Carolyn Apotsos
