ERCK Trail Commission Leads Successful Camp Wildwood Paddle

On July 18th, the ERCK Trail Commission led South Carolina Department of Natural Resources’ annual Camp Wildwood paddle. Camp Wildwood is a high energy, hands on environmental camp where campers learn about nature and our impact on the natural environment. The outing started at Simmons Landing and finished six miles downstream at T. Coke Weeks Landing across from Colleton State Park. Taking a leisurely pace of over five hours, campers stopped at multiple sand bars for lunch, fossil hunting, watermelon and good old fashioned playing in the river! The ERCK Trail Commission looks forward to hosting Camp Wildwood again next summer.

New ERCK Trail Website and Map Officially Launched On July 19th

On July 19th Colleton County, Dorchester County and the SC National Heritage Corridor celebrated the culmination of a true partnership effort with the launch of a new website and map for the ERCK Trail, a sixty-two mile stretch of the majestic blackwater Edisto River.

ERCKTrail.org is intended to be a comprehensive tool for planning a variety of river outings on the trail and offers details on access points, river sections, local outfitters, accommodations, news, events and much more!

Information on a variety of ways to obtain a copy of the ERCK Trail Map is available on the website.
